the Univega’s new path…
so after a lot of thought on the Univega it was decided that i simply had to do something with the frameset, as i got it for far too cheap just to sell it.
but what to do with it? well… since the original plan was to build a bike that could do more than one thing, which the Bianchi simply couldn’t do (as it’s a straight road/race bike), so why not take the Univega to the extreme of that equation and turn it into a 650b city bike. so that’s what i decided to do.
the basics are that it will be a 1×8 drivetrain, 90’s Chorus hubs, Veloce cranks and rear derailleur, Torelli headset, Shimano Dura-Ace center pulls, Velo Orange Diagonale 650b rims, double butted spokes w/ chrome bass nipples, Thomson seatpost, Gyes saddle, Soma Oxford bar, blah, blah, blah haha 😉
a lot of parts are in the mail right now, so more updates as they trickle in over the next week or so, this should be a fun one! 😀
